WEST KINGSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — Lack of rainfall in Southern New England this summer has led to our area being classified as in a moderate to severe drought. That means water use restrictions in some communities and more work for farmers of all kinds.
At Kingston Turf Farms in West Kingston, irrigation is a necessity to weather the occasional dry spells in our neck of the woods.
Because of a well thought out irrigation system, no matter what Mother Nature has thrown, business has never been interrupted in 60 years of the family run operation.
“The rivers are actually in pretty good shape,” said Brock Bouchard, one of the owners.
